PaperPoints is a game designed to help you improve and challenge yourself in a diver number of ways, especially suited ton the aging human being. There is no dungeon. There is no dragon. There is only you and the things you have not done yet.
PaperPoints is played in real life, on your word alone.
Chapter One
How to Play
The core rules of PaperPoints.
In the Basic Game (Levels 0, 1 and 2) there are two avenues of advancement:
- Learning and completing Skills
- Vanquishing Taints
At Level 3 there are Classes and more.
Starting:
You begin at Level 0 with nothing recorded. Choose some skills that you can do now, or soon, and aim to complete them. Once done, increase the relevant Stat and the EXP by the amount in the Skills table. You can also choose a Taint or three to strive to vanquish.
Everything unlocks as you go and is explained where it appears. Take your time or speedrun it. To commence play, check off some Skills and admit some Taints.

Some skills are hard physical challenges, others are mental tasks, some might even be said to verge on the silly. If you can do the skill you get the Stat increase. If you could do the skill already when you started playing PaperPoints then you do not get the EXP.

The Wageslave
You show up. Every day. That counts.
Living in disguise as an almost indentured servant, you do not have the time to train to be a wizard or ninja. Instead you work for the man or the machine and just get by — breaking rocks, shifting rubble, answering phone calls. Whereas some classes gain Intelligence or Wisdom through their practices, the Wageslave gains Tolerance. And because they are so busy at work, they can also attempt any skill from any class at their level.
